Tutoring Policy

Thank you for choosing Top Grade Tutor. 

To ensure a successful and rewarding tutoring experience, please review and adhere to the following policies:

Cancelations, Lateness, and No-Shows

The lateness and cancelation policy has been created to be fair to the client and tutor, as well as other students who may be scheduled on the same day as the Student.

Client agrees to let the tutor know of cancellations or lateness by phone, text, or email at least 24 hours before the scheduled session.

If the client cancels a session less than 24 hours before the scheduled session, the client will be charged for the session.

For all cancellations, clients should call or text the tutor directly and provide as much notice as possible. Tutors may reschedule sessions at a different time during the week if schedules allow.

No adjustment of fees or schedule shall be made for time lost due to late arrival or early departure by the student.

If a session is missed without prior notification (No-Show), client will not be provided a refund.

Tutor Cancellations:

Tutors are expected to have few, if any, cancellations.

If a tutor knows in advance that he/she will have to miss a regularly scheduled tutoring session, clients will be notified in advance and make every effort to reschedule to accommodate the student.

If a tutor must cancel less than 24 hours before the session is scheduled, the tutor will notify the client by phone or text message and where applicable refund will be issued.

Rescheduling:

Top Grade Math Tutors are frequently booked for several consecutive sessions on multiple days, so it may be difficult to reschedule a previously booked tutoring session. Depending upon the tutor’s schedule and availability, every effort will be made to accommodate a request to reschedule a tutoring session. When regular sessions are rescheduled at the Client’s request, a surcharge may be added, depending on whether the tutor is able to fill the original time slot with another student.

Tutoring Environment:

Tutoring takes place online through a secure virtual platform.

For online sessions, ensure you have a reliable internet connection and access to the necessary software/tools (e.g., a calculator, or virtual whiteboard).

Payments and Fees:

Tutoring fees will be discussed and agreed upon before the first session.

Payment can be made through agreed upon payment method.

Payment is due before each session.

Materials and Preparation:

Come to each session prepared with specific questions or topics you'd like to cover.

Bring relevant textbooks, notebooks, calculators, and any other materials required for the session.

Code of Conduct:

Maintain a respectful and focused attitude during tutoring sessions.

Refrain from any disruptive or disrespectful behavior.

Confidentiality:

Your personal information and tutoring progress will be kept confidential and not shared without your consent.

Assessment and Progress Tracking:

I will regularly assess your progress to identify areas of improvement and tailor our tutoring sessions accordingly.

Progress reports may be provided periodically to track your development.

Communication:

If you have any questions or concerns about the tutoring process or the subject matter, please feel free to discuss them with me.

I encourage open communication, and I will do my best to address any concerns promptly.

Parent/Guardian Involvement (If Applicable):

For students under 18, regular communication with parents or guardians regarding progress and concerns is essential.

Expectations:

Our goal is to help you understand the material thoroughly and improve your skills.

Regular attendance and active participation are crucial for maximizing the benefits of tutoring.

Termination of Services:

Either party may terminate tutoring services at any time with 2 weeks notice.

In the event of termination, any remaining prepaid sessions will not be refunded.
